When conversations keep turning into conflict

It can be frustrating to revisit the same issues without feeling heard. Counselling can help you explore recurring patterns, express your concerns and practise different ways of responding to one another.

Finding connection when you feel distant

Changes in affection, intimacy or time together can leave partners feeling disconnected. Sessions provide space to discuss what closeness means to each of you and what may be getting in the way.

Navigating changes in your relationship

Parenthood, work pressures, health concerns and other life changes can affect how you relate to one another. Counselling can help you talk through changing expectations, responsibilities and needs.

What to expect from couples counselling

The first session is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what each of you hopes to gain. Your counsellor will explain the approach, help clarify your goals and discuss how sessions could support you.

Beginning your counselling journey

You don't need a referral from your doctor to attend counselling at men'sspace.

In the first session we’ll talk about the reason you've sought counselling, discuss goals and answer any questions. You decide what you’re comfortable sharing. Sessions are conversational and solution‑oriented, there’s no judgment or pressure.

The number of sessions you may need varies; some clients benefit from short‑term, goal‑focused work while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll discuss a plan that fits your needs.

Meet Your Counsellor

After years of working with men from diverse backgrounds, I saw how stigma and outdated ideas of masculinity stop many men from seeking help. I founded Men’s Space to create the environment I wished existed: friendly, down‑to‑earth and focused on positive action.
‍
I am a fully qualified member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) with formal qualifications in Counselling and major studies in Relationship & Couples Counselling, Conflict Resolution, Family Therapy, Parenting & Child Development. Born and raised in Sydney, I bring over 40 years of lived experience in the areas of relationship and separation support, fatherhood, LGBTQI+ specific issues, anxiety, depression, motivational and decision-making assistance.
‍
As a male counsellor providing specialised mental health support for other men, I understand and can relate to the challenges faced by men in current times. I also warmly welcome women looking to take the lead in relationship and couples counselling, especially if you have a male partner who might feel hesitant or reluctant to try therapy.
My professional approach uses “Person-Centred” therapy, as a basis for support, this means you, the client, are the expert in your own life to lead the conversation and find your own solutions. My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), amongst other proven treatment approaches.

I’ll meet you with empathy, support, and real‑world tools. Together we’ll define what strength means for you and build a life that feels authentic.
