When worry and overthinking are hard to switch off
You might find yourself anticipating what could go wrong, questioning decisions or replaying situations long after they have passed. Counselling can help you explore these patterns and how they affect your day.
When anxiety affects work, relationships or everyday life
Worry can make it harder to concentrate, feel present with others or approach situations you would usually manage. Sessions provide space to discuss where anxiety is having an impact and what you would like to change.
Developing ways to respond to anxious thoughts and feelings
Together with your counsellor, you can explore approaches to managing worry, responding to difficult feelings and taking manageable steps towards situations you find challenging. The approach should reflect your needs and the counsellor’s training.
What to expect from anxiety counselling
The first session is a chance to describe what has been happening, how it affects you and what you hope to gain from counselling. You do not need to explain everything perfectly. You and your counsellor can agree on an initial focus and review your progress together.
